Read the essay entitled "I Want a Wife" by Judy Brady on page 344 of The Bedford Reader.
Write an analysis of "I Want a Wife." Consider the questions below as part of your analysis. Your response should sound more like a free-flowing discussion of the piece than a series of answers to a series of questions. With that in mind, I suggest typing your response in a word processing program before cutting and pasting it onto the discussion board.
1. What role does irony play in this piece? What type(s) of irony is (are) obvious?
2. What is Brady's thesis? How does irony help impart Brady's thesis?
3. What is the tone of the essay?
4. What specific examples of anaphora are present, and what effect do they have on the tone of the piece?
5. How does Brady sort the roles of a wife in her piece?
Your response should be between 250 and 500 words.
This is due Sunday, October 21st, by midnight.
