On your iClaim cd's, you will find a number of "arguments," some written, some visual, some spoken. Each of these arguments shows some facet of argumentation at work, such as appeals to reason (logos), appeals to emotions (pathos), and appeals to ethics (ethos).
Open your iClaim cd's, and click on the tab marked "The Arguments." If you look to the right, you will see a pull-down menu marked "Sort by." Whatever you click on in the menu will bring up arguments contained on the cd that meet your criteria. For instance, if you click on "Appeals to Pathos," the cd will sort the arguments on itself that contain appeals to pathos, and display them at the bottom of the screen.
For this task, select one argument from the iClaim cd for each of the three appeals, and explain (as a new thread) how each argument uses whichever appeal you have chosen. Be sure to include which argument you have chosen.
My favorite one on the whole cd is the "How to Be Popular" infomercial. Oh were those happier, simpler times.
This task is due by Saturday, September 29th at midnight. Threads posted after midnight will have a 10% deduction applied to them.
